With Lent approaching, many of us think about what we will "give up" for Lent. Often it is a hobby or food item that we may enjoy. But many times we may not focus on the reason that we carry on this tradition. The idea of "fasting" from an enjoyed activity is meant to remind us of the power of the spirit over the flesh. The Lord is with us in all things, giving us strength if we believe in Him and follow Him.
